We’re looking for a skilled multi-skilled Service & Maintenance Engineer with proven experience working on industrial, packaging, manufacturing or process machinery. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of work, we’re seeking an engineer who can confidently fault-find, service, install and commission machinery with minimal supervision.

The Role

Working on a broad range of PLC-controlled packaging, manufacturing and industrial machinery, you’ll split your time between the workshop and customer sites throughout the UK. From pre-delivery inspections and commissioning through to planned maintenance, installations and reactive breakdown support, no two days are the same.

This role would suit an engineer who has previously worked on packaging machinery, conveyors, filling or labelling equipment, production machinery, process equipment, automated handling systems or similar capital equipment.

Key Responsibilities

· Service, maintain and commission industrial and packaging machinery at customer sites throughout the UK.

· Carry out electrical and mechanical fault finding, repairs and preventative maintenance.

· Complete pre-commissioning, testing and workshop preparation prior to installation.

· Install, commission and provide customer handovers on new machinery.

· Provide occasional emergency breakdown support when required (paid overtime or TOIL).

· Build strong relationships with customers and identify opportunities for service support and spare parts (no sales targets).

· Attend specialist product training with European machinery manufacturers, primarily in Italy.

About You

We’re looking for an engineer with demonstrable experience working within a machinery manufacturing, packaging, production or industrial engineering environment.

You’ll be confident working independently, comfortable travelling throughout the UK, and capable of diagnosing both electrical and mechanical faults on automated machinery.

Essential Experience

· Proven experience servicing, maintaining or commissioning industrial, packaging, manufacturing or process machinery.

· Strong electrical and mechanical engineering skills.

· Experience fault-finding on PLC-controlled machinery (programming experience not required).

· Background in manufacturing, production, OEM machinery, automation or capital equipment.

· Engineering qualification such as an apprenticeship, HNC/HND or equivalent.

· Full UK driving licence.

· Professional approach with excellent customer-facing communication skills.

Desirable Experience

Experience with any of the following would be advantageous:

· Packaging machinery

· Conveyors and material handling systems

· Filling, sealing or labelling equipment

· Inkjet or coding systems

· Automation and production line equipment

· Food, pharmaceutical or FMCG machinery

Travel

· Typically 2–3 nights away per week for installations and commissioning projects (all expenses paid).

· Occasional weekend work, paid at overtime rates or offered as time off in lieu.
