Service Engineer
Salary: £35,000 per annum
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm
Location: Aldridge / West Midlands Field Based
Benefits: Door-to-door travel paid
Role Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Service Engineer to join their team, working from their Aldridge base and providing servicing and maintenance support on forklift trucks at customer sites.
This is a hands-on engineering role suited to someone with previous experience working on forklift trucks, plant, agricultural machinery, vehicles or similar equipment, with a good understanding of both mechanical and electrical systems.
You will be responsible for carrying out planned maintenance, servicing and routine repairs, ensuring equipment is maintained safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance on forklift trucks.
* Complete routine servicing, including oil changes, filter changes and general maintenance.
* Diagnose and rectify mechanical and electrical faults.
* Carry out inspections and identify potential issues before they become major faults.
* Ensure all servicing and repair work is completed to a high standard.
* Complete service reports and relevant maintenance documentation.
* Travel to customer sites as required to carry out servicing and maintenance.
* Ensure all work is completed in line with health and safety requirements.
* Provide a professional and reliable service to customers.
Experience & Skills
* Previous experience as a Service Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, Plant Engineer, Forklift Engineer or similar.
* Experience working with mechanical and electrical equipment.
* Electrical experience is essential.
* Good mechanical knowledge and practical engineering skills.
* Experience carrying out planned preventative maintenance and servicing.
* Ability to diagnose faults and carry out repairs effectively.
* Full UK driving licence.
* Good customer service and communication skills.
* Able to work independently and manage your own workload.
