Service Engineer

Location: Scarborough

Salary: Up to £50,000

We are seeking an experienced Service Engineer on behalf of our client. This role is crucial to our Service and Support Team, requiring a dedicated individual prepared to travel worldwide. You will be on the front lines, assisting our customers through various stages including start-up and commissioning of equipment, performing planned maintenance, training customers, diagnosing equipment problems remotely, and responding to service breakdowns. This position involves working with customers in diverse industries including Oil & Gas, Aerospace, and Automotive.

Key Objectives:

* Effectively liaise with the Service & Support Team on all installation, service, and training schedules.

* Investigate and recommend ways to improve service levels, reduce costs, and enhance quality standards and profitability on individual jobs/projects.

* Support customers remotely via company phone and laptop.

Key Responsibilities:

* Install, commission, and service all equipment.

* Implement key customer service contracts, ensuring both scheduled service work and machine breakdowns are handled professionally and that all conditions of Service Level Agreements are met.

* Document and submit all signed installation, service, and customer training paperwork in a timely manner.

* Follow up on any outstanding issues and deal with them appropriately.

* Manage personal timesheets, ensuring they accurately reflect activity codes and time spent for individual clients.

* Understand customers’ organisations, identify further sales opportunities, and promote service contracts.

* Participate in site surveys and site meetings.

Skills:

* Must have BTEC, NVQ Level 3, Advanced NVQ time-served apprenticeship AND/OR proven practical experience in mechanical and electrical engineering in industry.

* Good written and verbal communication skills, capable of interacting at all levels both internally and with customers.

* Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise personal workloads in line with business and customer expectations.

* Must have a customer service orientation and excellent interpersonal and communication skills as the position involves daily interaction with customers, colleagues, and third-party suppliers.

Work Conditions:

* Overtime and/or anti-social working hours will be required to meet project delivery deadlines.

* Overseas travel will be required.

* Training will be provided.

* Competitive salary - up to £50,000 OTE.
