Hours: 8:30am – 5:00pm
Travel: UK-wide – typically only 1 night away per month
We are looking for an Electrical Bias Service Engineer to join a specialist manufacturer of banding, VFFS and sleeving machinery, supplying equipment into food manufacturing sites across the UK.
This is a varied, hands-on role covering installations, commissioning, breakdowns, servicing and PPM. You will work on both the electrical and mechanical aspects of industrial capital equipment.
What We're Looking For
Electrical qualification, ideally an apprenticeship or equivalent
Strong electrical fault-finding skills
Ability to read electrical drawings and schematics
Experience working on three-phase 415V machinery
Confident using a DVM/multimeter
Experience with HMI inputs/outputs and changing I/O cards
Ability to wire and fault-find within control panels
Good mechanical understanding of industrial machinery
Full UK driving licence
Comfortable working independently at customer sites
We would consider engineers from either a factory maintenance background or field service environment, particularly those who have worked on machinery involving conveyors and products moving through a production process. Packaging experience is advantageous but not essential.
The Important Bit – Work-Life Balance
This isn't a role where engineers are worked into the ground or constantly away from home.
We manage workloads sensibly, with overnight stays limited to around one per month. When additional hours are required, TOIL is given back rather than paid overtime.
We want our engineers to have a varied and technically interesting role without sacrificing their life outside work.
Package
£42,000 – £45,000 salary
Company car or van with personal use
5% matched pension
Company laptop and phone
20 days' holiday
TOIL instead of paid overtime
Excellent work-life balance
Minimal overnight travel
