The Opportunity

We are representing an ambitious, privately owned mechanical and HVAC contractor with annual turnover of approximately £4–5 million and exciting plans for continued growth.

The business is looking to appoint a Service Director to take full ownership of its Service & Maintenance division and lead the next stage of its development.

This is far more than a traditional service management role.

It's an opportunity for an entrepreneurial, commercially minded and technically strong individual to take responsibility for an entire business area, shape its direction and play a major role in the future of a growing company.

You'll have genuine autonomy to make decisions, develop customer relationships, build your team and grow the division into a significant revenue stream.

Your Responsibilities

* Full divisional ownership: Take responsibility for the operational and commercial performance of the Service & Maintenance division.

* Business growth: Win new maintenance contracts, develop existing customer relationships and build recurring revenue.

* People leadership: Manage, mentor and expand a team of HVAC service engineers.

* Operational delivery: Oversee planned maintenance, reactive repairs, servicing and breakdown support across commercial and domestic clients.

* Commercial management: Own quotations, pricing, budgets, profitability, resource planning and customer retention.

* Technical leadership: Provide expertise across air conditioning, chillers, AHUs, ventilation, heating and wider mechanical building services.

* Strategic direction: Work directly with the company directors to shape the division's growth strategy, processes and long-term direction.

About You

We're looking for someone with a strong HVAC service and maintenance background, the technical credibility to lead engineers and the commercial ambition to grow a business.

You'll ideally bring:

* Strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems and mechanical services.

* Proven experience managing service engineers, maintenance contracts or service operations.

* Good commercial understanding of pricing, profitability and business development.

* Confidence to make decisions independently and take accountability for results.

* Excellent customer relationship and leadership skills.

* An entrepreneurial mindset and genuine desire to build and grow a division.

You may already be a Service Director, Head of Service or experienced Service Manager looking for greater autonomy, responsibility and career progression.
