Lead Service Designer
Contract
6 Months
Hybrid Working - couple times per month in either London, Bristol or Warwick
Market day rates inside IR35 via umbrella

Are you a passionate Service Design leader ready to make a significant impact? Our client is looking for a Lead Service Designer to drive customer-centric design in a dynamic, multi-product environment. This is your chance to lead a talented team, transform service design processes, and enhance customer experiences across the board!

What You'll Do:
In this senior, hands-on role, you'll be at the forefront of evolving our service design function from conceptual frameworks to fully operational delivery. Here's what you'll be focusing on:

Leadership & Delivery:
- Lead a dedicated service design team (4-8 members) and assist the Service Lead in daily operations.
- Align multiple product teams currently working in silos to foster collaboration.

Service Design Implementation:
- Develop and refine end-to-end customer journeys.
- Guide teams to create product-specific journeys that reflect a unified service vision.

Customer Insight & Strategy:
- Translate customer insights into actionable delivery requirements.
- Balance customer desirability, technical feasibility, and business viability to prioritise needs effectively.

Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate closely with product teams, workstream teams, senior leadership, and external stakeholders.
- Facilitate workshops to drive cross-team collaboration.

Embedding & Capability Building:
- Integrate the customer voice into governance and decision-making frameworks.
- Coach teams in service design practises and lead workshops.

Monitoring & Continuous Improvement:
- Establish frameworks for ongoing evaluation and iteration beyond the initial contract.

Key Skills & Experience:
We are looking for someone who has:

Strong service design leadership experience, ideally at a Lead level.
Proven ability to implement service design in complex environments.
Expertise in customer journey mapping and translating insights into delivery requirements.
Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
Strong facilitation and workshop design capabilities.
Experience in fast-paced and ambiguous environments.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

Deeply passionate about customer advocacy.
A master at cutting through complexity to create clarity.
Experienced in embedding service design in large programmes.
Comfortable operating at both strategic and hands-on delivery levels.
Previous local authority or government industry exposure
