Service Centre Supervisor
Location: Rainham, Essex

The Opportunity
We're looking for an experienced Service Centre Supervisor to lead a busy operational team in Rainham. This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on people manager who enjoys leading teams, driving performance, and delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.
You'll be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of the Service Centre, ensuring client commitments are met, productivity targets are achieved, and the team operates safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, motivate and develop a team of Service Centre Team Leaders, Operatives, Drivers and Machinists
Ensure customer service agreements and turnaround times are consistently achieved
Manage daily workloads and allocate resources effectively to maximise productivity
Monitor team performance, attendance, holiday planning and absence management
Drive a culture of safety, quality and continuous improvement
Investigate operational issues and implement long-term solutions through root cause analysis
Ensure all team members are trained, compliant and working to standard operating procedures
Support recruitment, onboarding and development of new team members
Manage vehicle compliance and ensure a roadworthy fleet is available to support customer requirements
Complete administrative tasks including payroll information, timesheets and employee support queries
What We're Looking For
Essential Skills & Experience
Previous experience in a supervisory or team leadership role
Strong people management and coaching skills
Ability to motivate and engage teams to achieve results
Excellent planning and organisational skills
Good understanding of Health & Safety practices
Strong communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels
Problem-solving mindset with experience identifying and implementing improvements
Basic IT skills including Microsoft Office
Desirable
Experience within service, manufacturing, logistics, operations or production environments
Knowledge of Continuous Improvement or Lean/6S principles
Experience with workforce planning and succession planning
IOSH Managing Safely qualification
ILM Level 5 or equivalent leadership qualification
