SEO Manager / Senior SEO Content Strategist (German Speaking) - Remote (UK Based)
Centric Talent are currently recruiting for a Senior SEO Manager / SEO Content Strategist (German Speaking) on behalf of our client. Since 2008, they have been transforming the lives of thousands of smokers and vapers through an exceptional range of e-liquids, devices and outstanding customer service.
As the business continues to grow across European markets, they are looking to appoint a commercially minded SEO professional who can take ownership of the German organic search strategy. This is far more than a content writing role – it is an opportunity to shape the long-term SEO direction of the German website, influence wider digital strategy and play a key role in building the future German SEO content function.
Working closely with the Head of Ecommerce and wider marketing team, you will combine exceptional German copywriting skills with strategic SEO expertise to increase organic traffic, improve search rankings and maximise online conversions.
Summary of the PositionYou will be responsible for developing engaging, SEO-driven content in native German while taking a strategic approach to improving the overall performance of the German website. You'll conduct website audits, identify opportunities for technical and content improvements, develop long-term SEO strategies and use data to continually optimise performance.
As the German market continues to expand, you will also have the opportunity to help build and develop the German SEO content team.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute the long-term SEO strategy for the German website to drive sustainable organic growth.
Conduct regular website, content and SEO audits to identify opportunities for improvement across technical SEO, content and user experience.
Create high-quality, engaging content in native German across product pages, category pages, landing pages and blog articles.
Localise English content into natural, persuasive German while maintaining brand tone and accuracy.
Develop content strategies based on keyword research, competitor analysis and customer search intent.
Monitor SEO performance, analyse data and implement continuous improvements to increase rankings, traffic and conversions.
Collaborate with Ecommerce, Marketing, Design, Product and Technical teams to deliver integrated SEO campaigns.
Utilise SEO tools and analytics platforms to make data-led recommendations and measure success.
Support wider group websites with SEO best practice where required.
Play a key role in establishing and developing the German SEO content function, with the opportunity to recruit, mentor and lead a dedicated content team as the business grows.Essential Skills & Experience
Native or fluent German speaker with exceptional written communication skills.
Strong background in SEO content writing with a portfolio demonstrating measurable organic search success.
Experience developing and implementing successful SEO strategies rather than purely producing content.
Proven ability to conduct comprehensive website and content audits and translate findings into actionable SEO improvements.
Strong understanding of technical SEO fundamentals, on-page optimisation, internal linking, keyword strategy and search intent.
Experience using SEO and analytics tools such as SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, Google Analytics 4, Google Search Console or similar platforms.
Commercially aware with the ability to balance customer experience, brand messaging and SEO performance.
Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced ecommerce environment.
Strong stakeholder management skills with experience working across Marketing, Ecommerce, Design and Technical teams.
Previous experience producing SEO content within an ecommerce environment.
Working knowledge of HTML and website content management best practices.Desirable Skills & Experience
Previous experience leading, mentoring or building an SEO content team.
Experience owning SEO strategy for an international or multilingual website.
Experience with WordPress, Magento or other ecommerce platforms.
Strong understanding of technical SEO and website performance optimisation.
Passion for ecommerce, digital marketing and emerging SEO trends, including AI-driven search and content optimisation.
Experience presenting SEO performance, strategy and recommendations to senior stakeholders.What Success Looks Like
