Key Responsibilities:
Developing and implementing transport policies and strategies
Leading and managing diverse transport projects and multi-faceted strategies
Creating, commissioning, and managing business cases for complex transport projects
Maximising the Council's chances of success in bidding for national funding opportunities
Collaborating with stakeholders to ensure transport schemes meet objectives
Providing expert advice on transport planning issues
Advancing transport-related projects to improve local and regional infrastructure
Utilising knowledge of external funding sources to co-fund transport schemes
Job Requirements:
Experience in transport planning, with a strong understanding of related issues
Proven ability to develop policies and strategies within the transport sector
Extensive knowledge of external funding sources for transport projects
Competence in project management and delivering complex programmes
Relevant degree or postgraduate qualification in a transport planning related subject
Experience in working with the rail sector is advantageous but not essential
Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment, leading teams to successful outcomes
