Description:

Are you an experienced Race Engineer with a deep understanding of the Formula 1 trackside environment? Do you excel in leading teams and managing the cars under the intense conditions of race and test events? If you are ready to take on a pivotal role in steering the teams engineering efforts, we want to hear from you.
As a Senior Race Engineer, you will lead the operation of one of the cars at all race and test events, collaborating closely with the Head of Performance Engineering and other key team members.
Your responsibilities as a Senior Race Engineer:
* Lead and manage all aspects of the car's operation at races and test events, focusing on performance development, setup, and tyre management.
* Ensure the car operates safely and legally, coordinating closely with drivers, mechanics, and engineers to optimise performance and compliance.
* Develop and oversee the car's run programmes and setup changes in alignment with strategic objectives set by the Head of Performance Engineering.
* Mentor and manage trackside Performance Engineers, from recruitment and onboarding through to professional development and performance evaluation.
* Collaborate effectively across departments to ensure seamless integration and adherence to the company’s quality management and safety procedures.
* Analyse and summarise technical data from various sources, contributing to continuous improvement in car performance and team operations.
Your current experience which will help you as a Senior Race Engineer:
* A degree in Engineering, preferably with a strong focus on mechanical, automotive, or electrical disciplines, achieving a minimum of a 2:1.
* A minimum of five years’ trackside experience as a Race Engineer in Formula 1, with additional experience in other racing formulas being advantageous.
* Proven ability to lead and communicate effectively under high-pressure conditions within a dynamic team environment.
* Extensive knowledge of vehicle dynamics, car systems design, operation, and preparation tailored to high-performance automotive applications.
* Proficiency in using race engineering software and tools, including ATLAS, MATLAB/Simulink, and lap time simulation tools.
* Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet critical deadlines.
