Seeking a Senior Toxicology and Safety Manager to lead and develop a team that assesses consumer product safety during NPD and throughout the product lifecycle

SRG are working with prominent and global leader that house major cosmetic and personal care brands. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced and fast-growing business that have product safety and tolerance as a top priority for their products. They need a Senior Toxicologist to manage and lead a team, using your experience to ensure the maintenance of safety frameworks and continuously adapting to and implementing scientific insights into consumer relevant product improvements. Working closely with in-house and supplier product development/ QC, procurement and marketing to ensure products and guide formulations are compliant and safe for end consumers, providing expertise in the assessment of ingredients and formulas in line with the Cosmetic Product Regulations.
Reporting to the Director of Product integrity, your responsibilities will include:
Safety activities throughout Innovation and NPD - ensuring products on the markets are safe throughout their lifecycle
Ensuring a continuous, relevant and robust Safety QMS
Drive continuous improvement of products, keeping on the pulse of scientific advancements and building on scientific knowledge and expertise
Using expertise to drive product competitive advantage, protecting the brand and driving business growth
Represent the business across all stakeholder meetings and expert committees
Train all relevant internal teams on product safety awareness, driving the importance of consumer safety and protectionRequirements
Degree qualified as a Pharmacist, Toxicologist or Medical Doctor OR Chartered status as a Biologist or Chemist
Extensive experience of Cosmetic Product Safety Assessment and producing Cosmetic Product Safety Reports (CPSR)
Working knowledge of global regulations surrounding Cosmetic/ Personal Care Products
Solutions-focused and meticulous
Strong business partner across all relevant business functions
Ideally have professional qualifications such as DABT and/ or UKRTKey words: Toxicologist, toxicology, regulatory, cosmetic safety, CPSR, PIF, Cosmetic, personal care products, FMCG, regulation, product safety, cosmetic safety assessor, assessment, toxicology, pharmacy, medicine, medical doctor, chemistry, biology, chartered, CTPA, DABT, UKRT, CLP, chemical safety, REACH, CPSR
