Senior Town Planner

A leading planning consultancy is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Town Planner to join its growing Sheffield team.

The Role
As a Senior Town Planner, you will play a key role in managing planning projects from inception through to determination, while developing strong relationships with clients, local authorities and other stakeholders.
Your responsibilities will include:
Managing a varied caseload of planning projects across residential, commercial and mixed-use developments.
Preparing and submitting planning applications and appeals.
Providing strategic planning advice to clients and project teams.
Undertaking planning appraisals and development potential assessments.
Liaising with local planning authorities, consultees and other stakeholders.
Managing projects and ensuring deadlines, budgets and client expectations are met.
Supporting junior members of the team through mentoring and knowledge sharing.
Contributing to business development and helping to strengthen existing client relationships.
About You
We're looking for an experienced planner with a strong understanding of the UK planning system and a genuine interest in development and the built environment.
You're likely to have:
A degree or postgraduate qualification in Town Planning or a related discipline.
MRTPI status or be working towards chartership.
Several years' experience within a planning consultancy, local authority or similar environment.
Strong knowledge of the English planning system.
Experience managing planning applications and providing professional planning advice.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organisational and project management abilities.
A commercial mindset and the confidence to engage directly with clients.
