Personal developmentDuties for the role of Senior Town Planner include:
Providing strategic planning advice to clients on development opportunities and planning risk
Preparing and reviewing planning appraisals, planning statements and supporting documentation
Developing and implementing planning strategies for residential and mixed-use developments
Managing planning applications from inception through to determination
Leading pre-application discussions and engaging proactively with Local Planning Authorities
Coordinating multidisciplinary consultant teams and ensuring planning submissions are delivered effectivelySkills and experience for the role of Senior Town Planner:
A degree in Town Planning or a closely related discipline
MRTPI status, or be working towards chartership
Significant experience within a planning consultancy, developer or related environment
Strong knowledge of the UK planning system and current planning policy
Experience managing planning applications and projects from inception through to determination
Experience within the residential development sector would be highly advantageous
Strong report-writing and communication skills
The ability to interpret planning policy and provide clear, commercially focused advice
Excellent project management and organisational skills
Confidence dealing with clients, planning officers and multidisciplinary consultant teams
A proactive, solutions-focused approach to planning challenges
