Our high profile client in the Food industry is currently looking to recruit a Senior Technician to work at their busy site in Bournville on a 6 month contract.
Job Description
As a Senior Technician, your main responsibilities are:
The Food Material Sciences team sits within the Ingredient Research group.
The role of Ingredient Research (IR) is to drive sustainable competitive advantage in discovery of insulated technologies that enable great tasting snacks with wellbeing credentials.
The role at Senior Technician is responsible for performing a range of sample preparation and processes using basic lab equipment and small-scale food production kits under the supervision of a more senior staff member.
You ensure effective organization of your workload, the integrity of the data generated and the timely and accurate reporting of results, highlighting where unexpected results were observed.
You also oversee the experimental workspace, adhering to all food safety and quality policies.
You will prepare, operate and maintain the equipment and ingredients for the efficient and effective operation of the experimental workspace (Ingredient Research Innovation Space) while working to the highest standards of safety and quality by ensuring that food safety and quality policies are adhered to including risk assessments, SOPs, HACCP and good manufacturing processes.Qualifications / Skills required
Degree or equivalent in Food Science, Chemistry, or similar
