RC Fornax are looking for a Senior Technical Author to join our defence customer based in Honiton. You will be working on a variety of programs and projects from large scale MOD Contracted vehicles to internal innovation projects.

Our customer encompasses a group of companies within the UK and Australia who design, manufacture and deliver special purpose machines and equipment. As an employee within the UK Group of companies you should work as part of the team, be flexible in your approach to your work and fulfil any reasonable request to do tasks that may arise and is within your capability.

Main Responsibilities:

• Authoring of publications content.

• Produce technical illustrations.

• Maintain and issue control all released publications.

• Ensure the publications adhere to the relevant or

appropriate specifications.

• Liaise and attend meetings with other company

departments necessary to perform duties and aid

business and organisational development.

• Manage own workflow.

• Produce technical illustrations.

• Contribute to the continuous development of business

process and systems.

• Ensure company procedures and processes are

followed.

Essential:

• Knowledge of BS4884. And AESP publication standards.

• Knowledge of Simplified Technical English.

• Ability to read and understand design drawings.

• Good working knowledge of Adobe Ai, Id, and Ps.

• Good working knowledge of SLR photography.

• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

• Good communication skills (verbal and written) at all levels

including suppliers and customers

Qualifications:

• Technical author qualified or relevant and proven experience.

• Technical illustrator qualified or relevant and proven

experience.

• Knowledge of design and Manufacturing techniques
