Description:
Using your technical expertise, you will be responsible for creating and producing construction packages and seeing through delivery of the design. You must be knowledgeable in architectural design and building regulations and be able to advise on what is feasible in a project.
The world of design and build is exciting and fast-paced. You will work on multiple designs at once and deliver projects of varying scales and types. This also means you have the opportunity to see a project being realised from start to finish and have a hand in every stage of the process.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities often change in a fast-paced environment like theirs, so this role includes, but is not limited to the following:
To embed yourself within the delivery team on each project. Meeting with other team members at an early stage to understand the project brief and goals
To understand how the design of a project related to the performance and functional issues of a business, so that practical questions can be addressed at the outset
Ensure current building regulations are being adhered to
Contribute to planning applications and other regulatory application procedures
Carry out building surveys when required and feed their results into the project
Work closely with the concept designer to develop their ideas into a final set of preliminary information ready for client approval
Prepare construction stage information for site use
Act as a lead for the detailed design process and co-ordinate design information from other members of the professional team
Liaise with appropriate authorities when producing documentation for statutory approval. For example, planning enquiries and building inspectors
Advise on suitable products and specifications when required
