We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Senior Support Worker to join our team of experienced and skilled staff at Respite Care in Whitley in Reading. Your main responsibility entails supervising the service provided to our users and formally managing the staff within their team, ensuring the seamless execution and enhancement of daily operational services. Additionally, you will cultivate various relationships through community networking to foster individual inclusion and engagement.

About us and the role:

We are a Respite Care Team registered with the CQC whose aims are to provide high quality support to adults with complex learning disabilities, regardless of gender, race, religion or sexual orientation.

Respite Care offers brief respites to caregivers from their full-time caregiving responsibilities. No day may the same due to the rotation of service users requiring our service. Furthermore, the ideal candidate should possess the capacity to evaluate risks and devise strategies to mitigate and handle them effectively.

You will be working a flexible shift pattern on a rotating schedule, enabling adequate planning for personal commitments outside of work. These shifts will encompass weekends and sleep-ins, with a requirement to work two weekends out of every three.

We assist individuals in fulfilling their daily living requirements, including personal care, manual handling, medication administration, meal preparation, and more. Our aim is to empower clients by offering opportunities for independence, fostering positive relationships, and enabling informed decision-making, all within a person-centered framework.

Exceptional client care and effective communication skills are crucial, along with a comprehension of the principles of exemplary practices in residential care and an awareness of the challenges faced by individuals with complex needs. Induction and training will be offered.
