Role: Senior Strategic Buyer/ Category Manager
Location: Pinner
Salary: £47, 500 - £55, 000 (+5% annual bonus)
The responsibilities of a Senior Strategic Buyer / Category Manager are as follows:
* Take ownership of the strategic direction of the organisation's supply chain, transforming purchasing processes from commodity-led to category-led
* Combine category spending on related commodities in collaboration with other companies within the group
* Develop and implement competitive sourcing strategies for category and commodity spend
* Lead internal process improvement to enable efficiency within the department
* Calculate, track and measure results to drive continuous improvement, recognising the true cost of both direct and indirect procurement using KPI’s
* Establish the commercial framework in which suppliers operate, encouraging cost competitiveness, cost avoidance and value improvement.
The ideal Senior Strategic Buyer / Category Manager will have the following skills/experience:
* Professional qualification in purchasing (CIPS / MCIPS) – degree qualified or equivalent
* Strategic Supply Chain / procurement experience within a manufacturing/ engineering environment, ideally in a high-compliance industry
* Proven category management, supplier relationship and negotiation skills
* Be available for regular overseas travel
