Senior Sous Chef - Royston
£19.00 per hour | Full-Time | Permanent
PPM Recruitment is currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Sous Chef to join a professional catering operation in Royston.
This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate and skilled chef looking for a permanent position, supporting the Head Chef, leading the kitchen team and helping to deliver high-quality food and service.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Head Chef with the day-to-day running of the kitchen.
Lead, motivate and supervise kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.
Prepare, cook and present high-quality meals to a consistently high standard.
Assist with menu planning, food preparation and stock control.
Monitor food quality, portion control and presentation.
Ensure compliance with food hygiene, health and safety regulations.
Maintain a clean, organised and safe kitchen environment.
Manage food storage, rotation and wastage in line with company procedures.
Support and train junior chefs and other kitchen team members.
Ensure meals are prepared and served on time.
Requirements
Previous experience as a Senior Sous Chef, Sous Chef or in a similar senior kitchen role.
Strong leadership and organisational skills.
Excellent knowledge of food hygiene and kitchen health and safety.
Ability to work effectively under pressure in a busy kitchen.
A passion for delivering high-quality food and excellent service.
A flexible, hands-on approach to kitchen operations.
