Description:
We are working with a leading defence organisation looking to recruit a Senior Software Engineer to develop software solutions used to test complex missile systems and their sub-components. The role offers the chance to work across the product lifecycle, contribute to modern engineering practices and develop expertise in automation, continuous integration and DevOps.
Typical responsibilities include:
* Designing and developing test equipment software for complex missile systems and sub-components
* Writing and maintaining software using C and C++, with opportunities to contribute to scripting and other emerging technologies
* Working within an agile development team to deliver reliable, high-quality software solutions
* Supporting software quality practices, automated testing and continuous integration
* Using electronic measurement and debugging equipment to investigate issues and support test activities
The ideal candidate will have:
* Previous software engineering experience developing test solutions
* Strong programming skills in C or C++, with scripting experience beneficial
* Experience working within an agile software development team
* A good understanding of software quality practices, automation, continuous integration and DevOps principles
* Knowledge of electronic measurement and debugging techniques using equipment such as oscilloscopes and spectrum analysers
The role typically involves working on-site 3-5 days per week due to the classification of the work. Relocation support may also be available for suitable candidates.
