Senior Social Worker
**Job Summary:**
The Senior Social Worker in the Duty and Assessments team will be responsible for providing high-quality social work services to children, young people, and their families. This role involves undertaking assessments, developing care plans, and working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure the safety and well-being of children.
**Key Responsibilities:**
1. **Assessment and Planning:**
- Conduct thorough assessments of children and families, including risk assessments.
- Develop and implement care plans in collaboration with children, families, and other professionals.
- Review and update care plans regularly to ensure they meet the changing needs of children and families.
2. **Case Management:**
- Manage a caseload of children and families, ensuring timely and effective interventions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records in accordance with statutory requirements and organizational policies.
- Participate in case conferences, reviews, and other relevant meetings.
3. **Safeguarding:**
- Identify and respond to safeguarding concerns in accordance with local and national guidelines.
- Work closely with safeguarding partners to ensure the protection of vulnerable children.
4. **Multi-Disciplinary Collaboration:**
- Collaborate with health, education, and other professionals to provide holistic support to children and families.
- Participate in multi-agency meetings and contribute to the development of integrated care pathways.
5. **Supervision and Support:**
- Provide supervision and support to junior social workers and social work assistants.
- Offer guidance and advice on complex cases and professional practice issues.
6. **Professional Development:**
- Engage in continuous professional development to maintain and enhance knowledge and skills.
- Attend training sessions, workshops, and conferences relevant to social work practice.
**Skills and Qualifications:**
- **Education:** Degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification.
- **Registration:** Registered with Social Work England.
- **Experience:** Significant post-qualification experience in children's social care, including duty and assessments.
- **Skills:**
- Strong assessment and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities.
- Proficient in the use of social work case management systems.
- Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
