Benefits: Company van
Contract: Temporary to permanent opportunity

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Site Manager to join a well-established contractor based in Gateshead, covering projects across the North East.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong painting and decorating background who is looking to step into a long-term role with progression into a permanent Contracts Manager position. The successful candidate will initially shadow the current Contracts Manager for a period of time, gaining full support and handover before moving into the permanent role.

The Role

As Senior Site Manager/Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing multiple live sites at one time across a mix of social housing and commercial projects, including schools, universities and other public/commercial buildings.

You will be required to manage site teams, instruct painters, ensure works are completed to a high standard, maintain health and safety compliance and liaise directly with clients.

This is a client-facing role, so strong communication skills and previous experience dealing with clients, subcontractors and internal teams is essential.

Key Responsibilities

Managing multiple painting and decorating projects across the North East
Overseeing site teams and instructing painters on day-to-day works
Completing quality checks and ensuring standards are maintained
Managing health and safety on site
Liaising with clients, contractors and internal teams
Supporting programme delivery across social housing and commercial projects
Attending site meetings and providing updates where required
Ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently and to specification
Pricing works where required, ideally with previous experience in this area

About You

The successful candidate will have a proven background in painting and decorating, ideally with experience managing multiple sites or projects. You will be confident overseeing site teams, managing quality and safety, and dealing directly with clients.

This role would suit an experienced Senior Site Manager, Contracts Manager, Painting Supervisor or Site Manager looking for a long-term opportunity with progression.

Experience managing multiple sites or projects
Social housing and/or commercial project experience desirable
Confident client-facing skills
Strong knowledge of quality standards and health and safety
