A leading engineering contractor are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Site Engineer to join a major construction project in the data centre and energy sector, based in Middlesbrough.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong Site Engineer looking to take on a senior role within a large-scale, highly regulated construction environment.

The Role

As Senior Site Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting the safe and successful delivery of the project, working closely with the Project Manager, Site Management team, subcontractors and other stakeholders.

Your responsibilities will include:

* Providing day-to-day engineering and setting-out support.

* Monitoring the progress and quality of works on site.

* Ensuring construction is carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications and programme requirements.

* Preparing and managing RAMS, ITPs and quality documentation.

* Maintaining drawing registers and accurate site records, including as-built information and site photographs.

* Identifying and reporting technical issues, non-conformances and out-of-tolerance works.

* Supporting the development and implementation of safe systems of work.

* Supervising and coordinating specialist subcontractors and technical engineering activities.

* Supporting delivery against programme, budget and quality requirements.

* Ensuring temporary works are delivered in accordance with approved construction information and permit requirements.

* Working closely with HSEQ teams to ensure safe working practices are maintained.

* Challenging unsafe acts or conditions and actively promoting a strong safety culture.

* Supporting the preparation of project documentation, including O&M and safety file information.

* Ensuring all relevant permits are in place and complied with before works commence.

About You

The successful candidate will have a strong background in site engineering and be confident working on complex construction projects.

* A degree-level qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction, Engineering or a related discipline.

* 5+ years' practical construction experience.

* Strong site engineering and setting-out experience.

* Experience within major construction, infrastructure, data centre or energy projects.

* Good knowledge of construction methodologies, quality assurance, RAMS and ITPs.

* Strong technical and problem-solving skills.

* Excellent communication and coordination abilities.

* A proactive approach to health, safety and quality.

* The confidence to work autonomously while operating effectively as part of a wider project team.

* Required Qualifications: CSCS, SMSTS, Temporary Works Supervisor (TWS), CAD experience
