Senior Systems & Commissioning Engineer
Responsibilities:
•Assist the project manager with onsite trades both external and internal ensuring that all security dependencies are aligned and completed on time to enable the project commissioning to be deliv-ered successfully.
•Communicate on and off-site effectively with the engineering teams, clients, project teams to deliver a 1st class commissioning experience.
•Problem solving by clearly discussing problems, clarify situations, identifying and explaining possible solutions.
•Discuss with engineer’s the project commissioning requirements, clarify updates, identify problems, and develop solutions.
•In-depth testing and troubleshooting of all systems access control, intruder alarms, intercoms, and CCTV, along with IP network systems.
•Programming physical security systems including access control, CCTV intruder alarms and other se-curity integrations.
•System setup and programming on large installations and supporting Engineers when they are pro-gramming on minor installations.
•Benchtop programming of security equipment pre-installation.
•Completes project testing / commissioning sheets and coordinates engineers in the commissioning process.
•Follow assigned projects to final adjustments, test, troubleshoot and rectify as part of the commis-sioning and signoff process.
•Ensure all users are trained in the use of the installed security system/s.
•Coordinate members of the installation commissioning team for all engineering teams while working on site or from a remote location.
•Communicate commissioning progress and provide regular status reports to the Project Manager to enable efficient resource planning for job completion and other dependant works.
•Partner with colleagues to improve and maintain standards across the company.
•Ensure prompt completion of commissioning programs, project tracker reports, project close-out reports and any associated paperwork as required.
•Work and maintain compliance with the company’s Health, Safety & Environmental standards and requirements, with the safety of self and others in mind at all times.
Key Accountabilities
•Security system pre-testing, compatibility, and suitability.
•Program and coordinate UK and global commissioning schedules for all projects.
•Create appropriate ITP’s (Inspection & Test Plan) and QA (Quality Assurance) and apply to the project commissioning process.
•Support UK and global project commissioning with internal staff and external partners.
•Project commissioning client handover, training, and documentation.
•Engineer commissioning training to ensure business resilience.
•Management of client security system passwords and compliance to ISO27001 standard
•Management of client security system licencing to ensure system remains functional
•Management and application of maintained client security system firmware updates and patches.
Skills and Abilities
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•Highly organised and detail-oriented engineer.
•Time-management and ability to meet deadlines.
•IT literacy, MS Office and ideally proficient in MS Project.
•Good understanding of networking (e.g. Cisco, TCP/IP, routing, switching).
•A proven problem solver and a can-do attitude.
•Self-improvement, the ability, and aptitude to learn new systems.
Experience, Licences & Qualifications
1)Minimum of 4 year’s industry experience working within security installations, servicing or design.
2)Previously worked in a security systems and commissioning engineer role.
3)Demonstrated ability commissioning or working with some of the following:
•Access Control (Preferably - Brivo, Openpath, S2, Lenel, C-cure, Inner Range)
•CCTV (IP systems, Preferably – Exacq Vision, Axis, Avigilon, Eagle Eye, Milestone)
•Intruder Alarm (Preferably - Galaxy, Texecom, Scantronic, Pyronix, Inner Range)
•Door Entry (Preferably - 2N, Comelit, Commend)
4)Experience in integrating systems.
5)Familiar with installations to NSI standards.
6)Full UK car driving license.
