What you'll be doing
Reporting into the Head of Commercial for Balfour Beatty Kilpatrick, Scotland you will be an experienced Quantity Surveyor who has previous experience in managing all costs and income within the Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) Sector.
You will seek to minimise the costs of a project and enhance value for money, while still achieving the required standards and quality.
Typically, you will be a Chartered Member of the RICS, ICES or CIOB and will have experience of managing a small team of less experienced commercial staff as well as mentoring others on their journey to becoming professionally qualified.
Who we're looking for
As a SENIOR QUANTITY SURVEYOR (MEP) you will have the following accountabilities:
Order information and systematically checks data
Prepares Activity Schedules, Resource Schedules & analyses tender documents
Critically appraises, estimates and negotiates the above with 3rd parties
Reviews complex contract programmes such as Time-Location
Assists with the preparation of delay and disruption programmes
Monitors subcontract activities, measure and respond appropriately
Prepares Internal reports, commercial progress and financial reconciliation and report to senior project staff
Understanding of the Customer Contract and undertake customer and
stakeholder management
Analyses rates & prices, agreement of variations and or compensation events as required
Prepares, submits and negotiates claims when required
Manages commercial aspects with Customer and Stakeholders for their area of
Responsibility
Undertakes constructability analyses using construction programmes
You will have the following qualities and experience:
BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent knowledge
MRCIS/MCInstCES/MCIOB or working towards them
CSCS Card (Professional Qualified Person) The following qualities/experience are desirable
