Senior Quantity Surveyor – HS2 Project | London

Location: London (HS2 Project)

We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a major infrastructure project supporting the delivery of HS2 in London. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role on one of the UK’s most significant engineering programmes, working within a high-performing commercial team to ensure successful project delivery.

The successful candidate will be a commercially astute Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in engineering or infrastructure projects. You will be responsible for managing commercial performance, administering contracts, and supporting the delivery team to maximise project value while effectively managing risk.

Key Responsibilities

* Manage the commercial and contractual aspects of allocated project packages.

* Prepare, submit, and negotiate valuations, variations, and final accounts.

* Monitor project costs, forecasts, and cash flow.

* Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities.

* Administer contracts, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.

* Support procurement activities, including subcontractor management.

* Produce accurate commercial reports and forecasts.

* Work closely with project managers, engineers, and key stakeholders to drive commercial performance.

About You

* Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within engineering, infrastructure, or major construction projects.

* Strong commercial acumen with the ability to manage costs, contracts, and financial performance.

* Excellent knowledge of NEC contracts (or similar standard forms of contract).

* Confident in negotiating with clients and subcontractors.

* Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

* Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).

Desirable Experience

Experience within any of the following disciplines would be highly advantageous:

* Mechanical Engineering

* HVAC

* Building Services

* MEP projects

Previous experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor working on major infrastructure or rail projects, including HS2, Crossrail, or similar large-scale engineering programmes, would also be beneficial.
