Senior Quantity Surveyor
Birmingham | £35,000 - £55,000 + Excellent Benefits
Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor looking to take the next step in your career with a well-established contractor delivering high-quality construction and fit-out projects across the UK?
We're working with a respected and growing organisation seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a varied portfolio of projects while enjoying genuine career progression, flexible working and the support of an experienced commercial team.
The Role
As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll play a key role in the commercial management of multiple construction projects from procurement through to final account.
Your responsibilities will include:
Preparing project budgets and cost plans
Procuring and managing subcontractor packages
Producing monthly Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs)
Managing variations, valuations and final accounts
Assessing subcontractor applications and payments
Identifying and managing commercial risks
Providing contractual advice under JCT and NEC contracts
Building strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and site teams
Supporting and mentoring junior Quantity Surveyors
Working closely with operational teams to ensure successful project delivery
About You
We're looking for someone who can demonstrate:
Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline
Proven Quantity Surveying experience within the construction sector
Strong knowledge of JCT contracts, with NEC experience also desirable
Experience managing subcontract procurement and commercial reporting
Ability to complete take-offs and value variations independently
Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills
Strong organisational and time management abilities
Confident communication skills and the ability to build lasting relationships
A proactive approach and the ability to work using your own initiative
Willingness to travel to project sites as required
