Job Description
* Oversee the cost management process for Industrial projects from inception to completion, including budget estimation, cost planning, and cost control.
* Conduct accurate quantity take-offs and prepare bills of quantities (BOQ) based on project requirements and specifications.
* Manage the tendering process, including preparing tender documents, evaluating bids, and negotiating contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
* Administer contracts and ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions, including payment certifications, variations, and claims management.
* Prepare regular cost reports, forecasts, and financial statements to track project expenditure and identify potential risks and opportunities.
* Identify value engineering opportunities to optimise project costs while maintaining quality and performance standards.
* Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including project managers, engineers, clients, and subcontractors, to ensure alignment on cost-related matters.
* Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks related to cost, providing proactive solutions to minimize potential impact on project delivery.
* Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and best practices to uphold the quality and integrity of project cost management processes.
Senior Quantity Surveyor - Position Requirements
* Masters degree in quantity surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field. Professional certification (e.g., MRICS) is preferred.
* SMITS
* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the Industrial sector.
* In-depth knowledge of quantity surveying principles, cost management techniques, and construction contracts within the Industrial industry.
* NEC suite of contracts (essential)
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and financial information.
* Strong leadership capabilities with experience in mentoring and developing junior team members.
