Description:

My client is currently looking to appoint a Senior Project Surveyor to join their Building Team in Central London, working across major commercial development projects typically valued between £100m and £300m.

This is a key commercial role, involved throughout the tender, design and construction phases, with responsibility for procurement, cost control and the overall financial management of large-scale construction schemes. The successful candidate will support project teams on commercial matters, manage contractual obligations, and where required, provide leadership and direction to junior team members.

Key responsibilities will include:

* Managing project costs and producing accurate financial reports.

* Administering contractual requirements, including change control processes and ensuring notices are issued within contractual timescales.

* Supporting the management of project risks and opportunities alongside operational teams.

* Preparing subcontract packages, issuing enquiries, negotiating agreements and managing interim and final accounts.

* Contributing to design change management, including scope variations, instructions and programme changes in line with project strategy.

* Supporting monthly cost/value reconciliations, forecasting, change management and risk reporting processes.

The client is keen to speak with candidates who can demonstrate:

* Proven experience delivering medium to large-scale construction projects, ideally valued between £100m and £300m.

* A strong track record of managing multiple subcontract packages ranging from £1m to £50m.

* Experience delivering London commercial office developments, from PCSA stage through to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.

* A good understanding of standard construction contracts, particularly JCT and NEC forms.

* A degree or HND in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline.

* Professional qualifications (RICS or ICES) or active progression towards chartership.

* Strong commercial awareness, financial acumen and excellent communication skills.

* Experience using financial reporting systems such as Oracle.

In return, the client offers an excellent benefits package, including:

* 24/7 digital GP service for employees and their families.

* Financial wellbeing support and employee assistance programmes.

* Ongoing professional development opportunities.

* Enhanced family-friendly benefits, including maternity, paternity, dependant and parental bereavement leave.

This opportunity would suit an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor or Project Surveyor looking to take ownership of high-profile commercial projects within a leading construction environment
