Senior Quantity Surveyor - Heathrow
We're working with a highly regarded specialist contractor looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team on a major project at Heathrow.
This is an excellent opportunity to take a senior commercial role within an established, employee-owned construction business delivering technically complex structural, engineering and infrastructure projects across the UK.
The Role
As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll take responsibility for the commercial management of a significant project/package, working closely with the project, operational and commercial teams to drive strong commercial performance from delivery through to final account.
Your responsibilities will include:
Taking ownership of the commercial management of the project/package
Managing project costs, budgets, forecasting and overall commercial performance
Leading valuations, variations and applications for payment
Managing subcontractor procurement, accounts, payments and commercial performance
Preparing and reviewing CVRs, forecasts and cost reports
Identifying, mitigating and maximising commercial risks and opportunities
Managing contractual matters, claims, variations and change
Working closely with operational teams to monitor progress and project performance
Leading commercial negotiations with clients and subcontractors
Supporting and mentoring junior members of the commercial team
Driving successful final account agreements
Building strong relationships with the client, subcontractors and wider project team
What We're Looking For
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor within construction
Main contractor or specialist subcontractor experience
Strong commercial and contractual knowledge
Experience managing subcontractors, valuations, variations, cost reporting and forecasting
Experience taking ownership of a significant package or project
Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills
Experience working on technically complex construction or infrastructure projects
Exposure to structural steelwork, reinforced concrete, infrastructure, aviation, rail or similar environments would be advantageous
Degree/HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying preferred, although relevant industry experience will also be considered
