Senior Quantity Surveyor – Main Contractor (New Build Residential) – Wood Green

Salary/Package: £450 – £500 per day Ltd Co (Outside IR35)

O’Neill and Brennan are currently working with a main contractor who are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team, working on a 100+ unit new build residential development in the Wood Green area.

This is an excellent opportunity for a time served freelance Senior Quantity Surveyor who has previously taken full commercial responsibility for projects valued at £30m+ and is comfortable operating in both structured and less structured environments.

The ideal candidate will have experience working for main contractors of varying sizes, some exposure to new build residential projects, and the ability to operate as a self-starter on challenging or complex projects.

Rate: £450 – £500 per day Ltd Co (Outside IR35)
Start: ASAP
Type: Long term Freelance

Responsibilities

Taking full commercial responsibility for a £30m+ residential development
Managing the commercial delivery of the project from procurement through to final account
Procuring and commercially managing high-value subcontract packages
Preparing subcontract enquiries, tender analysis, negotiations and recommendations for award
Managing subcontractor payments, valuations, variations and final accounts
Leading cost reporting, CVRs, forecasting and monthly commercial reporting
Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle
Working closely with the Project Manager, site team, design and procurement functions
Bringing structure and commercial control to challenging or less structured projects
Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants and the supply chain
Requirements

Experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with a strong main contracting background
Previous experience working for main contractors of varying sizes
Proven experience taking full commercial responsibility for projects valued at £30m+
Some experience delivering new build residential projects
Comfortable working independently and operating as a self-starter
Experience working within less structured environments, with the ability to bring commercial discipline and process where required
Experience working on challenging or "problem" projects would be advantageous
Strong commercial awareness with excellent negotiation and communication skills
Able and willing to commute to Wood Green
