Senior Quantity Surveyor - Infrastructure & Rail
Location: Blantyre, Scotland
Salary: £70,000-£80,000 + Car/Car Allowance + Benefits
I'm currently working with an established infrastructure contractor who are looking to strengthen their commercial team with an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor.
The business delivers a varied portfolio of civil engineering and infrastructure projects, including major rail schemes, offering the opportunity to take ownership of significant projects within a well-established commercial team.
The Role
As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll take responsibility for the commercial management of projects from concept through to completion, working closely with the wider project and commercial teams.
Key responsibilities will include:
Managing project costs and overall commercial performance
CVR preparation, forecasting and commercial reporting
Managing contractual obligations and commercial risk
Procurement and subcontract management
Managing change, variations and final accounts
Identifying commercial opportunities and best-value solutions
Building strong relationships with clients and supply chain partners
Providing commercial support and guidance to the wider project team
Managing projects with a high degree of autonomy
About You
We're looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with a background in rail, infrastructure, civil engineering or construction.
You'll ideally have:
Relevant commercial/QS qualification
Strong experience with CVRs, forecasting and commercial reporting
Good knowledge of NEC and other forms of contract
Experience managing projects with limited supervision
Strong subcontract and supply chain management experience
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
A proactive and commercially driven approachExperience within rail or major infrastructure environments would be highly advantageous.
