Salary: c£75k-£85k basic plus competitive package inc car or allowance, healthcare, bonus, pension etc.

Company & Project: A profitable, stable and market leading Main Contractor with an exceptional reputation across Cambridgeshire are looking for talented Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their business to take the lead on a c£20m New Build project.

The business is looking for a professional to join who is keen to progress their career and work on projects between c£20m-£50m in the local market.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Manage daily commercial functions ensuring strict cost control and alignment with project budgets.
Oversee accurate monthly measurements and valuations of work in progress, preparing comprehensive applications for payment in a timely manner.
Formulate accurate cash flow forecasts, Cost Value Reconciliations and monthly commercial reports for the senior leadership team.
Manage, negotiate, and successfully settle sub-contract final accounts while mitigating variations and disputes.
Standardise and manage sub-contract enquiries, analyse tenders, and compile robust sub-contract orders that minimise risk.
Act as the primary commercial point of contact for sub-contractors, managing change control, identifying variations, and issuing timely notices.
Actively contribute to 2-stage tender processes, leveraging market knowledge to optimise target costs and pre-construction activities.
Administer works under standard industry contracts (JCT and NEC), ensuring strict adherence to contractual mechanisms, early warnings, and compensation events.
Identify, manage, and mitigate commercial risks while maximising value-engineering opportunities.

Desirable Experience:

Minimum 10 years+ experience as an Quantity Surveyor working within a Tier 1 or established regional Main Contractor environment.
Prior experience navigating 2-stage tenders and pre-construction procurement processes would be advantageous.
Experience managing individual projects in single value of c£10m+.
BSc in Quantity Surveying or Comparable qualification.
Previous Roles: Senior Quantity Surveyor OR Project QS OR Senior QS OR Commercial Lead OR Project Surveyor.

Qualifications & Skills: Degree in Quantity Surveying or comparable qualification.
