The Opportunity
Sphere Solutions are recruiting an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join an established construction business delivering a major residential development in Bristol.
The project comprises multiple apartment blocks, with reinforced concrete (RC) frame construction and extensive external envelope and finishing packages. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially experienced QS to take ownership of the commercial delivery of a substantial, multi-storey residential scheme.
Key Responsibilities

Manage the commercial performance and cost control of the project.
*
Procure and manage subcontractor packages.
*
Prepare valuations, applications for payment and cost reports.
*
Manage subcontractor accounts, variations and change control.
*
Monitor budgets, forecasts and cash flow.
*
Negotiate and agree subcontractor final accounts.
*
Identify commercial risks, opportunities and potential cost savings.
*
Work closely with the Project Manager, site team and wider commercial department.
*
Maintain accurate commercial records and reporting.
*
Support the successful delivery of the RC frame, apartment blocks and external finishing works.
Requirements
*
Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within construction.
*
Strong main contractor or specialist contractor commercial background.
*
Experience working on large residential or multi-storey apartment developments.
*
Knowledge of RC frame construction and external envelope packages.
*
Strong subcontract procurement, negotiation and financial reporting skills.
*
Ability to manage commercial responsibilities independently.
*
Excellent communication, organisation and commercial awareness.
