Salary: c£70k-£75k basic plus competitive package inc car or allowance, travel, pension, health etc.

Company & Project: Apple Technical Recruitment are working with an award winning Main Contractor operating in the Education, Residential, Commercial, Science, Industrial and Leisure sectors, seeking to recruit an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their Commercial Management team, initially leading a new project win that starts on site in mid-2024, currently in PCSA stage. The project is a c£20m new build project, with a pipeline of future work also in East Anglia.

Our client has a strong order book and especially in the local market across projects between £5m-£40m.

The senior management team is well respected and noted for it's communication skills and available career progression that they make clear to all employees.

Apple Technical Recruitment have worked with the Commercial leadership team in this business for over a decade, placing surveyors in their team who still work for the business to this day, after achieving a number of promotions between them all.

Duties & Responsibilities: The successful candidate will take responsibility for managing all daily commercial management functions, including but not limited to; measurement & valuations, applications for payment, reconciling accounts, dealing with sub-contract orders and enquiries, through to practical completion of the project and settling final accounts.

Previous experience on projects £10m+ as Number 1 QS is essential, along with a strong working knowledge of assisting with CVR's and monthly reporting.

The projected profit, cash-flow and margin realisation is the key responsibility for surveyors in this business, as such it is expected that the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a strong track record in each of these areas.

Experience with NEC Contracts would be advantageous.

Desirable Experience:

Minimum 5 years+ experience as a QS on Construction projects in excess of £10m.
Good knowledge of JCT and/or NEC contracts would be advantageous.
Experience working for Main Contractors on Education, Healthcare, Leisure or Science sectors.
Excellent negotiation skills and previous experience procuring subcontractors.
Strong track interpersonal and communication.
Previous Roles: Senior Quantity Surveyor OR Project QS OR Quantity Surveyor OR Senior QS OR Managing Quantity Surveyor or Managing QS or QS.
Qualifications & Skills: Degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management or HNC/HND or BTEC or comparable qualification.
