Senior Quantity Surveyor | Civil Engineering
Exeter | £70k - £75k + £9,000 Car Allowance + Annual Bonus
The Opportunity
We’re recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join an established civil engineering contractor delivering major infrastructure projects across the South West. Based from Exeter, you’ll take commercial responsibility for circa £50m of projects across:
Reservoirs and water infrastructure
Flood alleviation schemes
Bridges and structures
Highways
Major civil engineering works It’s a substantial regional workload offering technical variety, commercial responsibility and long-term project security.
The Role
Working closely with the commercial, design and delivery teams, you’ll be responsible for:
Commercial management of major civils projects
Applications, valuations and cost reporting
Subcontract procurement and account management
Variations and compensation events
Forecasting, cost and value management
Contractual and commercial risk
Client and supply chain negotiations
Monthly financial reporting
Supporting and mentoring junior commercial staff About You
We’re looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor from a civil engineering, infrastructure, highways, utilities or heavy civils contracting background.
You’ll ideally have:
Strong civil engineering QS experience
Good working knowledge of NEC
Subcontract procurement experience
Strong forecasting and cost reporting skills
Relevant QS, Commercial Management or construction qualification
Good commercial, communication and negotiation skills The Package
