Description:

Here's a fresh version with different wording and a more senior, delivery-led tone:

A growing project and cost management consultancy in Chelmsford is looking to appoint a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its experienced team. The role offers the chance to lead a varied portfolio of projects across residential, commercial, education, healthcare, and public sector work, with direct access to clients and a high level of responsibility from the outset.

The successful Senior Quantity Surveyor will oversee the commercial delivery of projects from early feasibility through to completion, managing cost planning, procurement, contract administration, valuations, change, and final accounts. You will work closely with clients, consultants, and contractors, providing clear commercial direction and ensuring each project is delivered with strong financial control.

This opportunity would suit a Senior Quantity Surveyor who is confident managing their own commissions, enjoys building client relationships, and wants to play a visible role within a collaborative consultancy where progression and influence are both achievable.

Leading cost management services across multiple live projects

Senior Quantity Surveyor - Candidate Requirements:

Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline

Strong experience within a UK consultancy or client-side environment

Proven ability to manage projects through pre- and post-contract stages

Good knowledge of JCT contracts and common procurement routes

Strong client-facing, communication, and commercial skills

MRICS qualified or working towards chartership would be advantageous

Able to manage multiple commissions with a high level of autonomy

In Return:

£65,000-£75,000 per annum

25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays

Hybrid and flexible working options

Pension scheme
