Senior Quantity Surveyor (124jc) – Fareham – up to £75k + Benefits

We have been again approached by the specialist Maritime Civil Engineering company to assist them in seeking a Senior QS to join this exciting and expanding company.

DUE TO THE NATURE OF THIS RECRUITMENT CONSULTANCY, WE ARE ONLY ABLE TO REPRESENT INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE EX MILITARY.

They are a leading specialist maritime contractor with a strong presence in the UK. Their expertise encompasses a wide range of maritime construction and engineering projects. With a commitment to excellence and innovation, they pride themselves on delivering high-quality solutions that meet and exceed their clients' expectations.

So therefore, they are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Fareham, Hampshire. In this role, you will play a key part in managing the financial aspects of the projects, ensuring their successful execution within budget and in compliance with contractual agreements. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting and challenging maritime projects that make a significant impact on the industry.

Key Responsibilities:

* Manage and oversee all financial aspects of assigned projects, including cost control, budget management, and financial reporting.

* Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates and bills of quantities.

* Monitor and manage contractual agreements, ensuring compliance and mitigating risks.

* Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to assess and control costs.

* Evaluate and negotiate subcontractor agreements and variations.

* Provide regular financial updates and reports to senior management.

* Assist in the resolution of disputes and claims.

* Mentor and guide junior members of the quantity surveying team.

Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.

* Membership in a relevant professional organization (e.g., RICS) is preferred.

* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the maritime or construction industry.

* Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement methods, and relevant legislation.

* Exceptional financial acumen and analytical skills.

* Excellent negotiation and communication skills.

* Proficiency in relevant software tools, such as Excel and cost estimating software.

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

* Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.

* Prior experience in mentoring and supervising junior staff is a plus.
