Senior Quantity Surveyor
12 month contract (August start date)
£(Apply online only) per day (working outside of IR35)
Located in Newport, option to be based in head office Chippenham

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the Rail Infrastructure business, supporting a first class programme focused on the digitalisation and modernisation of the railway.
You will provide dedicated pre and post contract commercial management across the Wales & West portfolio, reporting into the Senior Commercial Manager.

Responsibilities:

Deliver post-contract commercial support across subcontract, materials, and direct labour packages
Manage cost, forecasting, budget control, and project financial performance
Lead work package change control and variation management
Support delivery across disciplines including design, installation, telecoms, electrification, civils, and more
Act as key commercial interface for work package managers and stakeholders
Provide contractual and commercial support to Project Managers and Engineering teams
Monitor, manage, and mitigate commercial risks
Produce internal and external commercial reporting in line with strategy
Maintain accurate, auditable records in line with contractual requirements
Collaborate with finance, project management, suppliers, subcontractors, and clients

Requirements:

Significant Senior Quantity Surveyor experience in a contractor-side environment
Background in rail, engineering, construction, defence, IT or similar sector
Degree qualified or working towards professional accreditation (e.g. RICS, IACCM or equivalent)
Strong commercial and contractual knowledge
Experience managing subcontract and direct labour costs
Skilled in cost forecasting, change valuation, and financial reporting
Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills
Excellent communication (written and verbal)
Confident working independently and under pressure
Strong IT skills (MS Word, Excel, Project, Outlook)
Strong commercial acumen and team collaboration ability
