Up to £65,000 + Car Allowance + Bonus + Pension

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established and expanding civil engineering contractor based at their Head Office near Rochester, Kent.

Working within a collaborative commercial team, you'll play a key role in the financial management of a busy portfolio of surfacing, highways and civil engineering contracts across London and the South East. This is a genuine senior position, offering the opportunity to mentor junior members of the commercial team whilst working closely with Directors, Estimators, Contracts Managers and operational staff to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and profitably.

This is a fast-paced environment where you'll be involved in the commercial management of up to 150 live contracts each month, making strong organisational skills and commercial awareness essential.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for the full commercial lifecycle of multiple projects, including procurement, subcontract management, valuations, variations, cost reporting, CVRs, forecasting, payments and final accounts. You'll also work closely with operational teams during tender handovers, provide commercial advice throughout project delivery and help drive continuous improvements across commercial processes and procedures.

We're looking for someone who has previous experience working as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager within the civil engineering, highways, surfacing or groundworks sectors. Experience managing multiple live contracts, mentoring junior staff and building strong client relationships will be highly advantageous. A sound understanding of NEC and/or JCT forms of contract, together with excellent communication, negotiation and analytical skills, is essential.

Background within civil engineering, surfacing, highways or groundworks.
