Description:

Senior Quantity Surveyor - Woking

A specialist property and construction consultancy based in Woking is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to strengthen their established team. With a strong workload centred around cladding, external wall and building remediation projects, this is an opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a business operating in a technically demanding and increasingly important area of the construction market.

The successful Senior Quantity Surveyor will take immediate responsibility for live commissions, providing commercial and cost management advice across complex remediation schemes. Projects will involve cladding replacement, façade works and wider building safety programmes, requiring the Senior Quantity Surveyor to work closely with clients, consultants, contractors and specialist subcontractors.

This position is particularly suited to a Senior Quantity Surveyor who can hit the ground running and confidently manage projects with limited supervision. The role offers broad responsibility across pre- and post-contract duties, alongside the opportunity to become a trusted commercial adviser to clients dealing with technically challenging remediation projects.

Senior Quantity Surveyor - Key Responsibilities:

Preparing cost plans, estimates and budgets for cladding and remediation schemes

Producing tender documentation and managing contractor procurement

Reviewing valuations, variations, change control and payment applications

Managing project expenditure and producing detailed cost reports

Negotiating final accounts and resolving commercial matters

Advising clients on procurement, contractual and commercial strategy

Attending project meetings and carrying out site inspections

Managing commissions independently from appointment through to completion

Senior Quantity Surveyor - Candidate Requirements:

Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related construction discipline

Strong UK Quantity Surveying or cost consultancy experience

Previous experience with cladding, façade, remediation or refurbishment projects is highly desirable

Good understanding of JCT contracts and UK procurement routes

MRICS qualified or working towards chartership would be advantageous

Strong commercial judgement and client-facing communication skills

Able to independently manage multiple commissions and priorities

In Return:

£60,000 - £70,000 per annum

Woking-based position

Specialist exposure to cladding and building remediation projects

High level of project autonomy and client responsibility

Long-term progression within an established consultancy
