The Role
As the Senior Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Lead, you will take commercial responsibility for a significant section of a major £80m project in Cardiff Bay, working closely with the Project Director and wider commercial team to ensure successful financial delivery from start to finish.
This is a highly visible role that offers the opportunity to influence project performance while developing your career within an expanding contractor that continues to secure prestigious projects across the UK.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the commercial management of a substantial package on a major construction project.
* Manage project budgets, forecasts and cost reporting.
* Oversee procurement and subcontractor management.
* Negotiate subcontract agreements and final accounts.
* Administer contracts and manage commercial risk.
* Prepare valuations, variations and payment applications.
* Monitor project performance against financial targets.
* Build strong working relationships with clients, consultants and subcontractors.
* Mentor and support junior commercial team members where appropriate.
About You
You'll ideally have:
* Experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor, Commercial Lead or Senior Commercial Manager.
* Proven experience delivering large-scale construction projects for a main contractor.
* Strong knowledge of commercial management, procurement and contract administration.
* Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
* Experience managing project costs from pre-construction through to final account.
* Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (preferred).
* Membership of RICS or working towards chartership is advantageous but not essential.
