Senior Quantity Surveyor

Infrastructure

Location: Berkshire
Salary: £62K-£75K + Car + Package

Our client is a leading Tier 1 infrastructure contractor with a strong presence across the UK water sector. Due to continued growth and a secure pipeline of work, they are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial management of a diverse portfolio of water and wastewater projects delivered under a major long-term framework agreement.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute professional who enjoys working across multiple projects, engaging with key stakeholders, and playing a pivotal role in driving commercial performance throughout the project lifecycle.

The Role

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take responsibility for the commercial management of several projects simultaneously, ensuring contractual compliance, financial control, risk management, and value maximisation. Working closely with operational, engineering, and delivery teams, you will provide commercial leadership from procurement through to final account.

Key Responsibilities

Procure and manage subcontract packages (Civil and M&E)
Administer subcontract accounts
Manage NEC contractual processes, including early warnings, compensation events and commercial notices.
Prepare and submit client applications for payment
Develop, maintain and report on project budgets, forecasts and Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs).
Produce and maintain detailed cost plans
Monitor subcontractor liabilities and project financial performance
Analyse project costs and identify opportunities to improve profitability and commercial outcomes.
Work closely with site, operational and engineering teams to ensure robust project records are maintained.
About You

Degree qualified or equivalent in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline.
Experience working within civil engineering, utilities, infrastructure proijects for a tier 1 Contractor
Strong knowledge of NEC contracts and compensation event management.
Proven ability to manage subcontract accounts and commercial processes through the full project lifecycle.
Experienced in producing CVRs, forecasts, cost plans and financial reports.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Commercially driven with the ability to identify and manage project risks and opportunities.
