Senior Quantity Surveyor required for a leading privately-owned civil engineering contractor. Hybrid remote and site-based role covering major infrastructure schemes in Oxfordshitre, Berkshire, Wiltshitre, Bedfordshire, Somerset, Gloustershire and Hampshire.

Our client is one of the South East's most respected privately-owned civil engineering contractors, delivering infrastructure, highways, earthworks, drainage, groundworks and major civil engineering projects across London and the South East.

With annual revenues exceeding £250 million, they continue to secure high-value projects across the infrastructure, industrial, commercial and residential sectors and have built an outstanding reputation for quality, repeat business and investing in their people. The company offers genuine long-term career progression, with many of its senior commercial staff having progressed through the business.

Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to commercially lead a significant package of works on a £30 million infrastructure project.

The successful candidate will be based on a site convenient to them, working closely with the Commercial Manager and operational site teams to ensure the successful commercial delivery of this flagship project.

The successful applicant will be responsible for the full commercial management of major civil engineering works, including subcontract procurement, administration of both NEC and JCT contracts, managing subcontractor accounts, processing applications and valuations, preparing Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs), monitoring project costs, pricing and agreeing variations, managing compensation events, forecasting project performance, preparing final accounts and identifying commercial risks and opportunities throughout the lifecycle of the project.

Applicants should already have experience working as either a Senior Quantity Surveyor or an experienced Project Quantity Surveyor within a civil engineering, infrastructure or groundworks environment. You should possess a strong understanding of both JCT and NEC contracts together with proven experience managing drainage, ducting or infrastructure packages valued in excess of £10 million. Excellent commercial awareness, negotiation skills and the ability to build strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors and operational teams are essential.
