Location: North Bristol office / Project near Bath

Salary: £60,000 - £75,000 + £6,000 Car Allowance + Excellent Benefits

Senior Quantity Surveyor - The Company

Our client is a successful, well-established residential developer with an excellent reputation for delivering quality new build homes across the South West.

Unlike many volume housebuilders, they focus on well-designed developments, typically delivering 3, 4 and 5-bedroom homes alongside occasional apartment schemes. Their projects combine private sale and affordable housing, with an emphasis on quality rather than volume.

Senior Quantity Surveyor - The Role

A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor, or an ambitious Quantity Surveyor looking to step up, to join an established regional commercial team.

You’ll take full commercial responsibility for your own live residential development, working closely with the Commercial Manager, Site Team and Technical Department to maximise project profitability from start to final account.

The role offers a good balance of office and site work across local developments, with autonomy to manage your own workload and build strong relationships throughout the business.

Typical duties and responsibilities

* Take full commercial responsibility for your allocated residential development

* Prepare monthly cost/value reconciliations and financial reports

* Produce accurate cost forecasting and cash flow projections

* Procure subcontract packages and prepare subcontract orders

* Manage subcontractor accounts, payments, variations and final accounts

* Prepare and agree interim valuations

* Monitor project costs, budgets and commercial performance

* Identify commercial risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle

* Work closely with operational teams to maximise project profitability

* Maintain accurate commercial records and contractual correspondence

Senior Quantity Surveyor - The Person

* Experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor or an established Quantity Surveyor ready to progress

* Previous experience with a residential developer, housebuilder or residential main contractor

* Strong commercial knowledge of new build housing projects

* Able to manage projects independently from procurement through to final account

* Excellent negotiation and communication skills

* Commercially aware, organised and proactive

* Experience mentoring junior surveyors would be advantageous

* Must already live within a commutable distance of North Bristol
