The Company

Our client is a leading quantity surveying consultancy working with some of the UKs largest major main contractors and specialist subcontractors. They provide quality dispute resolution, commercial management, claims and recovery solutions across all project sectors as well as thorough training and development services.

The Project

As an experienced Freelance Senior / Quantity Surveyor, you will ensure the successful delivery of designated commercial packages on a hyperscale commercial development situated in Central London. You will serve as an integral member of the commercial team, playing a pivotal role in guiding the financial strategy, maintaining cost control and commercial success of the project. Throughout the project, you are required to maintain clear communication with stakeholders and uphold regulatory compliance.

Requirements

For this role it is essential that you carry the following skills as a minimum;

Ability to multitask and prioritise projects
Strong communication and attention to details
Understanding of construction laws and regulations
The ability to accurately estimate the costs associated with the project
A solid understanding of construction materials, methods, and techniquesIt is also essential that you hold the experience below;

Successfully delivered packages on new build / refurbishment developments in excess of £20m+
History of solely delivering commercial packages on new build / refurbishment projects in the commercial sector
Extensive background, 5 years minimum with a proven track record of success on major projects with a proven major main contractor or subcontractorThe Role

Location: Central London - Hybrid working split between home and site
Duration: 6 months minimum
Reporting to: Company DirectorDuties

Procurement
Reporting to the Director
Analysis of tender allowances
Preparing material reconciliations
Cash management and maximization
Monitoring and overseeing measures
Preparing and submitting material delivery sheets
Internal reporting and monitoring of trade contractors
Offer useful feedback to project teams and individuals
Confidence in presentation and the skill to lead high level meetings
Must be able to remain composed and focused in complicated situations
Working closely with subcontractors to ensure accurate costs and payments
Maintain sustainable and productive relationships with existing stakeholders
Increase and grow optimistic relationships with clients and client professional teams
Participate in the recording of delays & preparation of any request for extensions of time
Preparation and administration of procurement advice, tenders, tender reviews and advice
Ensure deadlines are actively managed and progress is reported to supervisors as required
Generate/maintain relevant records, accurate filing and support for all commercial functions
Must be organised and prioritise own work to deliver on time through organization of time efficiently
Assess risks involved with new initiatives, ensure deadlines are met and be ready to handle unexpected situations
Provide tender analysis to relevant people for approval of proposed sub-contractor prior to placing of ordersThis is a long-term freelance position with a competitive rate on offer for the successful candidate.
