Senior Quantity Surveyor – The Company
An excellent opportunity to join an established main contractor specialising in the delivery of exceptional high-end residential projects across Wiltshire, the Cotswolds and surrounding areas.
The business delivers complex refurbishment, alteration and new build projects for private clients, working on some genuinely impressive properties with exceptionally high standards of design, specification and finish.
With a strong pipeline of secured work and individual projects of significant value and complexity, this is an opportunity to work in a specialist sector where quality of delivery is paramount.
Senior Quantity Surveyor – The Role
As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you’ll take a key commercial role across a portfolio of high-end residential projects, with responsibility for approximately £15m–£40m of work depending on project size and complexity.
Working closely with the commercial and operational teams, you’ll provide full commercial management from procurement through to final account.
Responsibilities will include:
* Commercial management of complex refurbishment and new build projects
* Managing a workload of approximately £15m–£40m
* Procurement and negotiation of subcontractor packages
* Preparation and management of project budgets, forecasts and CVRs
* Managing valuations, variations and change control
* Subcontractor account management and payments
* Cost reporting and maintaining accurate commercial forecasts
* Negotiation and agreement of final accounts
* Identifying and managing commercial risk
* Working closely with clients, consultants and project delivery teams
* Supporting junior members of the commercial team where required
Senior Quantity Surveyor – The Person
This role requires a strong main contracting background rather than purely developer-side experience.
The successful candidate will ideally have:
* Significant Quantity Surveying experience with a main contractor
* Experience commercially managing projects with a high degree of autonomy
* Strong subcontract procurement and commercial management experience
* Excellent contractual and commercial awareness
* Experience within high-end residential construction would be a major advantage
* Refurbishment experience would also be highly beneficial
* Confidence working with demanding specifications, bespoke packages and complex projects
* A professional, commercially astute and collaborative approach
Senior Quantity Surveyor – The Reward
