Description:
Alexander Steele continue to work with a premium food business who supply a wide range of products in to Food Service, B2B, UK retailer and wholesaler. Due to continuous growth the business is looking for a Senior Quality Technologist to join them at their site in Essex.

The Role:
As Senior Quality Technologist you will be responsible for ensuring all food products meet customer specifications, minimising customer complaints, improving standards and carrying out audits and checks across the site.
Key responsibilities;
* Adhere to the Quality schedule in place and ensure that all products meet the required quality and specifications.
* Work cross functionally to improve standards on site.
* Lead site preparation for auditing and conduct internal audits. Ensure site is meeting required BRC, customer and compliance standards at all times.
* Support the Technical team with supplier auditing and risk assessments.
* Work cross functionally to ensure that all customer complaints and issues are investigated in full.
* Be an active member of the sites HACCP team.
* Play a leading role in the management of contractors.
* Keep supplier and customer data and documentation up to date and maintained.
* Lead on technical compliance projects.
* Effectively contribute to the continuous improvement of the technical and quality function through adherence to KPI and achieving targets.
Candidate requirements:
* Holds a food Technology / Science degree
* At least 3 years experience in a similar role within a food business
* A trained internal auditor (to BRC standards), HACCP level 3 and have a good understanding of UK food legislations
* Strong analytical, interpersonal and communications skills
* Works well under pressure in a fast paced environment
