Senior PSV Technician
CRP Group is working with a large automotive manufacturing organisation that has identified the need for a Senior Engineering Technician. Supporting the Aftersales team to remedy in-service failures and quality issues.
As the Senior PSV Technician, you’ll provide short term and long-term resolutions to existing vehicles and continuous improvement feedback to the Engineering division.
Senior PSV Technician analyse problems and make initial assessments for evaluation by engineers, prioritise, identify possible ways forward and deliver the right business solution.
* Focus on timely response based on customer expectations and commercial pressures, requiring an ability to work off own initiative to make decisions on implementing effective solutions.
Liaise with design team and customers to understand design intent.
* Full and rigorous analysis of root cause failures, carrying out investigations into reliability issues, warranty issues, component failures etc. on site, at service centres or at customer’s premises. Collating information from multiple sources to identify root cause and effective remedial actions.
* Provide technical/engineering support to Aftersales team including service centres, technicians and customer service managers. Additionally, provide the technical support for Warranty to assist with settlement and resolution.
* Identification of appropriate company processes and testing to approve and implement changes in the most efficient manner
Experience
* Extensive PCV and / or HGV engineering experience
* Experience of dealing with complex issues with third parties to full root cause - permanent corrective measures
* A strong level of general engineering and automotive engineering knowledge, including:
o Structural design, steelwork, fabrication,
o Truck/Bus powertrains, engines, transmissions, braking and pneumatic systems etc,
o Bodywork and interiors, including materials, design, regulations relevant to PSVs etc.
o Electrical systems, CANbus networks, multiplexing, EV systems, general vehicle electrics
The role does include extensive travel to other sites through out the country
