The Company

I am working exclusively with a Leicester based business who design and manufacture custom filtration systems for a wide variety of manufacturing sectors.   The business manufactures all of its’ custom built systems at their Leicester facility through a wide range of sheet metal and fabrication processes.

Under new ownership the business has ambitious plans for growth and are looking to recruit a Senior Proposals Engineer to support their Senior Sales Engineer with immediate effect.   The business is looking for a candidate who has a background with filtration systems so if this sounds like you then please apply today for a speedy response.

The Candidate

For this Senior Proposals Engineer role, we are looking for a candidate with:

Experience with filtration systems
It would be even more advantageous if you had some exposure to dust filtration or extraction systems
To come from a mechanical engineering background with experience in either design, project engineering or a sales engineering or sales support type role
A strong commercial acumen.
To be comfortable liaising with customers at all levels of decision maker
Someone who works well under pressure and time constraints
Local enough to the Leicester office to commute on a daily basis

The Role

The Senior Proposals Engineer will support the external Senior Sales Engineer who generates RFQs for new filtration systems.   You will work in partnership with the Senior Sales Engineer to understand what the potential customer wants and then to produce winning quotations to secure orders.

As the business is growing there is the potential in the future for you to take on more responsibility directly with customers with potential pathways into external sales in the future.

Your key responsibilities will involve:

Sizing equipment needed for project including filter, fans and motors.
Establishing proposed costing for the equipment.
Working out the ducting runs required for the system and proposed costs.
Liaising with customers regards proposals being produced from shop floor right up to MD level.
You will be producing proposals for projects that can range from 5K up to 500K.
Creating final written proposal for customers detailing the equipment required and proposed costs.
